Bernard George Nagel

Beloved Husband, Devoted Father, Adored Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Navy Veteran.

Bernard Nagel passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024 at the age of 98. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. Bernard’s greatest love and source of pride was his family. 

In 1925 he was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest of five siblings.

Bernard met the love of his life, Agnes Aiello, after serving his country in the United States Navy. They were married on May 25, 1947 and enjoyed 65 years of happily married life, until her passing in August 2012. 

Following his service, he became a glass blower and later retired in 1988. 

Bernard is survived by his three devoted children, Diane (Zoll), Thomas and Robert, son-in-law, George, daughters-in-law, Lee Anne and Michele (Chele) and his adoring six grandchildren, Christopher, David (Angela Esmond), Lindsay Aliano (Nicholas Aliano Jr.), Jeffrey (Lauren Maniaci Nagel), Matthew, and Ryan as well as his four precious great grandchildren, Nicholas, Joseph, Philip and Emma. 

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was active until his death playing Racquetball three times a week at the gym with Max's Over the Hill Club, participating at Young at Heart and IBEW Local 25 Retirees group meetings. When not playing racquetball or meeting with friends, Bernard could be found admiring the view at Kings Park Bluff. 

A visitation for Bernard will be held at Moloney’s Hauppauge Funeral Home, 840-Wheeler Road, Hauppauge, NY, on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will occur at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 115 Kings Hwy, Hauppauge, NY 11788 on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 9:30 A.M followed by a graveside service at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY 11792
