Bernard A. Lefebvre 1942 – 2023
Bernard “Bernie” Lefebvre of Moriches, New York, passed away on April 16th. A cherished father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and loving husband, Bernard was a teacher in the Hauppauge school district. Launching his career in Hauppauge in 1971, he taught general science in the middle school for the first 12 years before moving onto teach advanced placement physics and chemistry at Hauppauge High School. He retired in 2003 and was delighted to see a number of his students move onto careers in engineering and hard sciences. Additionally, he worked as an analytical chemist for companies such as Baron Blakeselee and later, Pride Chemical. He also proudly spent a number of summers working at Brookhaven National Laboratory. These positions allowed him to bring science to life in the classroom and enrich the education of his beloved students.
Bernard is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mrs. Maryanne Murphy, his son and daughter-in-law Gary S. Lefebvre and Allison Lefebvre of Flemington, NJ., his daughter Audrey C. Kleet of West Orange, NJ, and his grandchildren Dean W. Lefebvre and Gavin C. Lefebvre. He is also survived by his siblings Lucille Bonsaint of Saco, Maine, Sr. Celine Lefebvre, and Andre Lefebvre, both of Biddeford, Maine, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of 29 years, Carol A. Lefebvre.
A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church of Center Moriches, NY, at 10:30am on Saturday, April 22, 2023. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association in Bernard’s memory: https://www.heart.org/
