Antoinette M. Vicari, 88, passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Hospice on October 12, 2018, while surrounded by family. Preceded in death by her husband, Frank Joseph Vicari, after 31 years of marriage, and siblings Walter Jr. Suslavage and Evelyn Cook. Survived by her children: Frank (Angela) Vicari, Jr., Patricia (Ronald) Hopkins, David (Melissa) Vicari and Andrew (Jennifer) Vicari. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Jamie (Scott) Brunquell, Kristin (Luke) Tyler, Jessica (James) Kolakowski, Michelle (Ryan) Strassburger, Corinne Vicari, Juliana Vicari, Matthew Vicari, Michael Vicari, Kevin Vicari, Andrew Vicari, and four great-grandchildren.
Antoinette was born on November 30, 1929 to Walter and Helen Suslavage, in Shenendoah, Pennsylvania. As a young adult she attended the Pennsylvania School of the Deaf and was an avid bowler for many years. She and Frank lived in Hauppauge, NY and eventually moved to Millsboro, Delaware. She will fondly be remembered by her friends and family as a kind, patient woman. Though she is no longer with us on earth, our memories will remain full of her infamous recipes, her handmade quilts, the sound of her laughter, and much more.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2-4 p.m on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Moloney’s Funeral Home in Port Jefferson Station, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Antoinette to: Good Shepherd Hospice, 110 Bi-County Blvd., Suite 114, Farmingdale, New York 11735.
