Ann Draude

Ann Moran Draude, 86, of Selden, passed away on October 22 after a long battle with Dementia. Beloved wife of the late Charles Draude Jr. Loving mother of Thomas (Susan) Hendricks, Deborah (the late Jack) Dalrymple, Donna (Steven) Needham and Erika (Daniel) Clark, and stepmother to Donald and the late Douglas Draude. Adoring nana of Lorenzo, Desiree, Kelly, John, Caitlyn, and Charles. Treasured daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Moran. Dear sister of Mary (Fred) Ciorra and the late Winifred (Tony) Goonan. Sister-in-Law to Ernest and Pat Draude, the late Judith and Joseph MacDonell, and Susan and Howard Mann, as well as aunt to multiple nieces and nephews. Born on July 19, 1936, Ann spent her early years growing up on a farm in County Mayo, Ireland. As a young woman, Ann came to the United States and worked as an au pair in New York City until she married and became a mother and a homemaker. She was an exceptional wife and mother who cared deeply about her family. Later in life, she played an integral role in helping to raise and support her grandchildren. She did this not out of obligation, but because of the loving person that she was. Ann had many lifelong friends as well as neighbors who meant a great deal to her. She’ll be remembered for her faith, her generous and kind heart, and her spirited sense of humor. She is dearly loved and will be forever missed by all who were blessed to know her, until we see her again. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
