Angelo Leonardo, age 86, of Orlando Florida, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Madeline Leonardo, three daughters, Carol (Paul), Donna (Al) and Margaret (Michael). Six grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew, Brandon, Ryan, Joseph, and Michael. Two great grandchildren, Elijah, Aria and his siblings, Joseph Leonardo and Natalie Barbella. His extended family of sister and brother in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will miss him dearly. Angelo was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he served on the USS Turner from 1953 to 1957 earning the rank of Machinist Mate 2nd Class. After leaving the navy, Angelo worked various jobs eventually working for the State of NY where he worked his way up to the position of Deputy Warden for the Department of Corrections. Angelo was a devout Catholic and Eucharistic Minister at St. Issac Jogues. He was a 4th degree Knight and Treasurer for Knights of Columbus Council #3333. Retiring in 1990, both Angelo and Maddy moved to Spring Hill Florida and then Orlando in 2004 where they have resided since. Angelo and Maddy were not only parents to their daughters, but many who knew them left their presence feeling like both were their surrogate parents. Angelo touched so many people and his numerous family and friends are a testament to his life of devotion to God, his family, friends, and a life of serving others.
