Aline (Allie) B. Rowehl

Born on July 25, 1936, Allie was raised in Hicksville and later Brookville. Allie loved children and studied to become a School Teacher. After graduating from college, she was eventually employed by North Shore Day School in Glen Cove. Following a loving courtship, she married her late husband Richard (Dick) Rowehl on August 26, 1961. Together they started a family of their own and she retired from teaching. Loving the outdoors, Allie and the family spent many weekends at Sailors Haven on Fire Island and vacations camping on and off Long Island. Lifetime friendships that continue today were born on those beaches and in those woods. And when they weren’t enjoying the outdoors, the family adventures included numerous long distance road trips to Florida that were filled with Mickey Ears and wonderful memories of their own. Allie had an adventurous spirit that continued right through her senior years where she enjoyed local theater and outings with “The Grannies”, a trip to Alaska, sitting by a campfire, motorcycle rides, skeet shooting, and Tequila shots.

Allie passed on November 1, 2021 in her 85th year. She is preceded by her Husband Richard, her Mother and Father (Lea Zona-Botto & William Joseph Botto), and is survived by her Brother Donald Botto. She is loving Mother to Richard (Pam), Scott (Jen) and Beth (Al) LaManna; Grandmother to Taryn Mestek, Justin, Abigail & Alessandro LaManna, Olivia and Ashley; Great Grandmother to Arya Mestek.
