Alfred Versandi 

February 24, 1961 – February 15, 2025

 Alfred passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Al was born in the Bronx and was proud of his Italian heritage. He was an outstanding athlete at Newfield high school who remained close to many of his fellow graduates and is remembered as a loyal friend. Al will always be remembered for his witty comments and cut-to-the-chase wisdom. 

Al loved his family and enjoyed family gatherings. He was the lead singer in a classic rock and blues band, loved music, cruising on his motorcycle, and playing softball. Uncle Al could always be found standing on the sidelines and watching his great nephews play football and baseball. He was an avid Yankee fan and loved a good meal on Arthur Avenue before heading to Yankee Stadium.

Al was preceded in death by his father, Alfred and mother, Violet. He is survived by his loving family: siblings Karen (Jerry), Anthony (Betty), Gay, Debbie (Tony). He will be missed by nieces and nephews: Philip, Julie, Anthony, Jennifer, Michael, Keri, Matthew and Brandon and Great nieces and nephews: Kyle, Aaron, Laurence, Gia, Madison, Lucas and Ivy.
