Alex Mauro

Alex Mauro, 91, passed away on September 12, 2024 at his home in Holbrook, New York. He was born in 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, where he later met his loving wife Eileen, and was happily married for 71 years. Alex joined the United States Army at the age of 20 and served in Korea before returning home to raise four caring children, and build a career in mechanical engineering. He had many passions in life including art, photography, computers and his pets, but the ones he took pride in most was loving his family and bringing a smile to everyone's faces. 

Alex is survived by his wife Eileen, his children Steven (Ellen), Tommy (Deena), Janet (Anthony) and Jean (John), his grandchildren Susan (George), Anthony (Danielle), Alex (Jena), Joey (Lindsey), Kayla (John), Montana, Brenna (Nick), Michael, and Paige (Matt), and his great grandchildren Cate, Emmett and Luca. 

Alex was loved by everyone around him, and will forever be in our hearts.
