I don’t like viewing the body. I don’t want anyone gawking at me.

Most families choose to have a viewing because it helps them to come to the reality that their loved one is truly gone. For some it offers closure.  Of course, there are many options available if this is not your preference to have a viewing.  Every family is different,   you can certainly have visitation and a funeral without a viewing.
